Opera Concert for Ukraine

This special Opera recital is being held at Palffy Palace in aid of charity for people affected by the current situation in Ukraine.

The IWCB extends its sincere thanks to Julia Radosz and Róbert Pechanec for their generousity offering their wonderful talents to help this worthwhile cause.

Julia is one of our newer members and is an American/Canadian spinto soprano, who has been engaged by theaters and symphonies such as Opera Naples, Annapolis Opera, Wichita Grand Opera, National Croatian Theater of Split, National Moravian-Silesian Theater, Miami Lyric Opera, Tri-Cities Opera, Rhode Island Philharmonic and The Caramoor Festival. Recent roles include Amelia (Un ballo in maschera), Marietta (Die tote Stadt), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Suor Angelica, Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Madama Butterfly, and the soprano soloist in Verdi’s Requiem. Other roles include, Violetta (La Traviata), Fiordiligi (Cosí fan tutte), Musetta (La Bohème), Helena (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Governess (Turn of the Screw), and Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah.

Ms. Radosz has garnered numerous awards, including: Winner of the Jenny Lind Competition, Connecticut Concert Opera Competition, Marcella Kochanska Sembrich Vocal Competition, and the 5 Towns Music and Arts Foundation Competition, a Grant Winner from The CareerBridges Foundation, 2nd Place in the Kosciuszko Foundation's Marcella Sembrich Vocal Competition, 2nd Place in the National Federation of Music Club's Biennial Young Artist Awards, 3rd place in New Jersey State Opera's Alfredo Silipigni Competition, and the Bel Canto Award at the Orpheus Competition.

Julia will be accompanied by the much sought-after pianist Róbert Pechanec, who has collaborated with a number of Slovak vocal performers (Adriana Kučerová, Pavol Bršlík, Štefan Kocán, Peter Mikuláš, Ľubica Vargicová, Miroslav Dvorský, Adriana Kohútková, Richard Šveda, etc.). He has performed with them at numerous concerts and festivals at home and abroad and has performed on leading concert and opera stages.

He has given concerts in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Austria, Switzerland and Italy. From 2000 to 2004, he performed at concerts by leading soloists at the Wexford Opera Festival.
